I need a list

Saturday, May 18, 2013

I woke up in the middle of the night panicking about everything I need want to get done before I leave for Saskatoon. I’m way behind on my goals for the month. Most of the items on that list were things I wanted to take with me but, unless I burn some midnight oil, I’m unlikely to get it all done. I find a list helps keep me focused and less panicked!

I was up early but spent a lot of time on my iPad before breakfast and heading up to my studio to quilt. I was only at work for about half an hour when Pat called up to see it I wanted to go to the Farmer’s Market. Of course I said yes, even though there was absolutely nothing we needed. We wandered around the grounds looking at everything (mostly plants) while we had a cup of coffee and said hello to a few friends.

When I got home, I got right back to my project and, after another hour, I could see that I was making good progress. Seeing the end in sight I powered through the afternoon with only a short break to talk to Kathryn on the phone. She kept the conversation short when she heard I was busy quilting on her quilt! While I quilt I’m listening to Dave over the internet. He’s working the Memorial Cup games this weekend. He is on a Saskatoon radio station hosting the pre-and post-games, and he does the colour commentary for Sports Net Radio. He’s very good, and I don’t think I’m prejudiced.

I’m going to finish this quilting tonight so I can start on something fresh tomorrow. I don’t know what we’ll have for supper tonight, but I know we have one of Grandma Rose’s pies for dessert!
