I won’t do that again

After my weekend of quilting, the last thing I wanted to do today was make lunch at BOND. But a commitment is a commitment and off I went. Wraps were on the menu and I made a couple of variations. I made Asian Chicken Wraps once before so I already had a recipe, but I wanted a vegetarian option. I found a recipe for another type of wrap that used a lot of veggies (and other meat) but I adapted it and made it vegetarian. I used hummus, mozzarella cheese, avacado, red pepper, cherry tomatoes, and shredded lettuce and carrots. They were very well received. Wraps are time-consuming and, because the chicken wraps in particular are moist, I didn’t want them rolled until the last minute. Lots of lovely babies at lunch today – one only a few days old. Several ladies are due in the next few weeks so the dynamics of the group will change again.

The coordinator went out before lunch and bought a new pad for the change table but the straps to secure it were too short. I brought it home and I’ll try to take the straps from the old one, sew them onto the straps of the new pad, and get it back to them for next Monday. No, I didn’t volunteer for the job but when they asked if I would I couldn’t say no.

I was so tired when I got home I went for a nap. Normally I wouldn’t think of napping because I always feel so much worse when I get up. I must have needed it today though as I feel better and have enough energy to watch another Canucks game!

Note To Self – do not volunteer for BOND on the day after a weekend of quilting (and I have two more of those coming up)!
