I was one of the first to arrive at the bee this morning. I knew that I had to leave before lunch and I wanted to get a good lesson and some practice time with my rug hooking. I’m not sure I’m going to like this particular craft, but I’ve been assured by my teacher that I will get better as I move forward.
I arrived at the optometrists office a bit early knowing there would be forms to fill out. While I waited one of the coordinators from the BOND program, who is currently on maternity leave, arrived so we had a nice chat. It was close to one before I left the office and, with my eyes dilated from drops and innumerable bright flashes in my eyes, I decided it was best to come home rather than go shopping as I had planned.
With my eyes in the state they were in I couldn’t stitch and I couldn’t read, but I thought I could clean bathrooms and make beds. The more I wandered around though the dizzier I felt so I decided on an afternoon rest. I didn’t sleep all the time, but I know I dozed off and on over the course of a couple of hours. When I got up I still felt a bit woozy so got started writing the Guild blog before supper.
There will be a lot to do tomorrow, but I think I’ll have time to get everything done before the concert. If the bathrooms and bedrooms are done before our guests arrive at noon, I can take care of the shopping and cooking in the afternoon. The show starts at eight, but people often start to arrive before seven. When they arrive that early they are likely to find me stashing dirty pots and pans in the oven, and hiding dirty dishes in the dishwasher!
