Full house

When I stopped at the BOND office this morning to discuss lunch we opted to make beef fajitas and a veggie option. We thought about having both beef and chicken but decided that would be too much food for the group.

We should have gone for the chicken option as well as the beef and veggie. The ladies started arriving at their usual time (about five minutes before lunch is served) and they didn’t stop coming for 45 minutes. We were adding tables and chairs but, unfortunately, there was no extra food to add. I’m assuming the meal tasted good but when I saw the numbers I limited myself to fruit and veggies. I think everyone got at least one fajita, but I could have made double the amount. It is so hard to tell how many will show up. Next time I’ll plan for thirty and probably only a dozen will come! I had compliments from more people than ever today – they were a polite bunch and I guess the ones who got while the getting was good appreciated it!

I was holding a little boy today. He’s about 3 months old and he had on the cutest little plaid shirt. We were commenting on how they look like little boys and girls as soon as you put clothes on them, but when they are in their sleepers they all look like babies. We had three ladies exit the program today – one of them was a “regular” and we will miss her and her little one. Lots of new ladies today though in the early stages of their pregnancy, and a few are counting the days to their due date.

I’ll spend a bit of time this evening getting ready for the bee tomorrow. A friend is going to give me a rug hooking lesson so there won’t be much to prepare. It will be a short bee for me as I have an eye appointment just before lunch. If I have enough energy after supper I might get started on my cleaning for the House Concert. If not, I’ll sit and crochet.
