I finished stitching Mario last night and moved on to his partner, Luigi, this morning. They go together quite quickly but I changed my method for this second one and am having some problems. With Mario I cut the pieces as I needed them so each row was laid out as I was ready to stitch it. For Luigi I precut all the pieces for all the rows and now that I’m putting them together I find I’m stitching the wrong lengths together and then doing some ripping. This is not unusual for me – almost all my projects involve some ‘reverse sewing’.
I’m waiting for my friend Carola to arrive for an afternoon of knitting. I have one of Grandma Rose’s pies from the Winter Market in the oven so we’ll snack as well as chat. Then we are off to The Hub for dinner and the evening. Tonight is the first in a once-a-month program that Pat is arranging for the restaurant.
