I finished up in the studio this morning – everything has a place and I still have some room to move around and work. It ended up that I didn’t change the furniture around as much as I thought I would. I traded my bookcase for one of Grandpa’s end tables, and it holds my smallish collection of quilting books just fine. I turned my cutting table around so it is easier to work at, and I managed to stack a few more of my wool bins to gain some space. I switched the dresser drawers around so I have better light for choosing fabric. All my projects/patterns that already have fabrics picked are in separate bins, tins and plastic pouches. Note to self: you have way to many projects on the go!
The other half of the upstairs is a different matter entirely. I hope to do a bit of work on that room next week but, so far, I’m not sure what I can do with the space. There is too much furniture for the room, but I don’t want to give any of it up. I guess if that is my worst dilemma I’m okay.
I had a small box of scraps (as well as a huge box) and I spent some time sorting through the small box to see how the new space would work. I had space on my cutting table to sort and cut, and the spots where I hide store my scraps were easily accessible. I finished up by vacuuming and, hopefully, the vacuum is easier to get at now and I’ll do that task more often.
After all that work, and lunch, I’ve had a shower and put on my best green shirt (okay, my only green shirt) because we are off to a St. Patrick’s Day party tonight. But I’ve read on some blogs that it is National Quilting Day so I’d best do something special to celebrate don’t you think?
