Messy Room
And this doesn’t even show behind the door or across the hall!

Although I had lots to get done today, I putzed away the morning. Pat had a breakfast meeting and I should have been doing some cleaning for the house concert tomorrow. I decided I would concentrate my efforts on making things neater, not necessarily cleaner. I reorganized a couple of jewelry boxes and I cleaned some stuff out of the closet – not exactly that anyone coming to the concert would notice, but I knew I was just avoiding this mess.

When Pat got home we started rearranging the artwork on the walls so we could hang a couple of my quilts. I moved the Mariner’s Compass to the laundry room after I took down the Lovebirds hanging, and then we moved our painted tiles and hung Inside the Blue Fence behind Pat’s desk.

We moved the quilt Stacia and Deloise gave me for my 50th birthday into the spare room and hung Sundays, Weddings and Funerals on the wall in our bedroom. We may do a bit of furniture rearranging after the concert, but for now it looks good.

After lunch I stopped at the Red Cross to return the two wheelchairs I borrowed for the quilt show. I felt just a bit badly leaving them for tomorrow’s volunteer to wash but I had to get to my doctor’s appointment (good excuse, and I don’t think anyone will know who left them because I did all the paperwork myself)!

By the time I did a bit of shopping and got home Pat had the living room set up in its concert configuration. I’ll have to vacuum around the chairs – or maybe just where the rug is showing – and mop out the kitchen tomorrow. Our guests arrive on the noon ferry so I better get an early start.
