Half day

I had quite a debate with myself last night as to whether or not I would go to the sewing bee today. Because Ruby doesn’t travel with me it meant that if I went there would be no progress on my tie quilt. On the other hand, today was Project Tuesday and I hate to miss the patterns that are offered to us. My compromise was to go to the bee until noon and then come home and quilt for the afternoon.

I didn’t get far on my Project Tuesday piece, but most of the bits I need are cut. The important part for me though was that I spent enough time with the ladies that I didn’t feel guilty about taking both of the patterns. I must say though that a couple of women popped in for a few minutes, picked up the patterns and then left. That isn’t the way it is supposed to work but, since I’m not in charge, I kept my opinions to myself.

I made good progress on my quilting this afternoon. After saying the pattern included quilting options, I admit that so far I’ve modified each piece as I’ve moved through it. In some places I used stitch-in-the-ditch instead of an overstitch, and in others I’ve used a straight line rather than a free-motion curved line. For the most part I’m happy with it and, more importantly, it is getting done.

The film festival starts tonight so I’ll be busy from morning to night for the rest of the week.
