Whew!

It was a busy morning but we were ready in plenty of time to pick up Lindsay Jane from the noon ferry. After a stop at home, a cup of coffee and a brief visit we headed out to the Patricia so Pat and Lindsay were available for their sound check. After I dropped them off I came home and did a few more “getting ready” tasks. I picked up a neighbour (and new friend), and we headed off to see the concert at the theatre.

After the show we hurried home to get things set up for dinner. The meal was a bit of a scattered affair but everyone seemed to enjoy it. The World’s Greatest Chili was a hit. Do you remember it from one of those recipe books our family put out many years ago? Not many vegetarians in the group and we have a lot of pasta left.

I didn’t get as much help clearing dinner as I thought I would. Everyone was visiting so I was able to quietly fill the dishwasher (although I didn’t run it), and stash the dirty pots and pans and serving trays under the sink and in the oven to deal with later.

Folks started arriving for the concert as some of the dinner latecomers were finishing up. The concert was very well received, and tonight felt more like a big party than any of the others have. It went later than most as well – the last folks only left about 15 minutes ago.

The dishwasher is running and there will be one or two more loads to do. I still have some food to put away from the apple/dessert table, but I’m hoping this post gets out in time for you to receive it tomorrow.
