Strange

With the exception of a couple of interruptions, Ruby has been working very hard today. I’ve almost finished quilting my Disappearing 9-Patch. I don’t usually stitch in the evening but I’m going to come back to the studio after dinner and see if I can keep my wits about me long enough to get it finished.

My first break was a trip to Staples. I needed to get that one sheet I talked about a couple of days ago printed in colour. When I went to the desk the woman who helped me said I could do it myself, or they could do it for me. I didn’t even get a chance to ask if there was a price difference when she told me that if they did it they wouldn’t be able to do it right away. Okay, I can do it myself. Her reply was that she would just help me with the system. We both walked to the printer, we both watched as I followed the on-screen instructions, we both watched the sheet come out of the printer, and we both admired the quality of the page. Then I paid her and I was on my way. Now how did that take less time than had I asked her to do it in the first place?

My second break was when my quilting friend stopped by to pick up the sheet. She was very grateful and brought me a lovely box of chocolates.

I was expecting my printer to be delivered today, but unless they came and went while I was out (and didn’t leave a note) they didn’t come around. Too bad because I’m going to be out of the house most of tomorrow and Tuesday. I’ve waited this long so I guess a few days more won’t matter.
