At this rate

I needed to have some lab work done this morning (fasting involved) so I stayed in bed until it was time to head to the hospital. I can manage not eating in the morning quite easily, but doing without my coffee is another matter entirely. I got in just after the early-morning rush and just before the first-of-the-day rush.

I didn’t have a lot of time between getting home and heading out for my Red Cross shift so I got a pair of mitts started for Madison. I’ve been so focused on hand stitching my flowers that my knitting has fallen by the wayside. I only got a few rows done, but at least they are started.

Pat was using the car today so I walked to my Red Cross shift. It wasn’t sunny, but it was a nice day for a walk. There were very few clients today, but the convenor was training a new volunteer. I’m not sure what slot she will be filling, but even if she is a spare on the list it will be a help. I took along my book just in case I had some quiet time and I got a couple of chapters read.

I’m heading to Comox tomorrow for some Red Cross training and there was some equipment here that needed to go with me for repairs. I couldn’t carry it home so Pat picked me up. We stopped at WalMart because I needed a photo of one of my quilts so I could submit an entry form tonight. I was having a late lunch at home about fifteen minutes later when I realized I’d used the wrong picture file and I had a photo for a quilt that isn’t ready yet. I will eventually (fingers crossed) be submitting this quilt, but I think I need a better photo.

I’m off to a Guild demo tonight so there won’t be an opportunity for any stitching or knitting. Tomorrow will be a write-off, Sunday afternoon we have an event and I’ve accepted an extra BOND shift for Monday. At this rate I’m going to be really scrambling to get everything done, photographed and submitted before the deadline.
