Getting down to business

Monday, January 7, 2013

I was looking forward to getting a lot of stitching done today but I had a few things to take care of first. I was too tired to write the Guild blog after my weekend classes, but I promised a couple of readers I would have it out by noon. I made it, but not by much! It was time to publish a new Guild membership list but first I had to confirm a couple of things for our newest members, as well as make sure the address for another was correct. I print several copies of the list – one to keep in my back-and-forth bag, another for my Committee bag, one for the membership binder that resides in the Guild cupboard at the Senior’s Centre and then a few extras for people who don’t have e-mail and/or printers.

Next up was some Quilt Show business. We have accepted five vendors into the show so I sent letters of confirmation to each of them. As I was printing my fourth letter my printer made a clunking sound and refused to print. I checked for paper jams, I removed the print cartridges, I powered it off, I powered off my computer – I did everything I could think of before giving up and sending my jobs to the printer downstairs. I also needed to apply for a Business License and, after filling in as much of the form as I was able, I took it across the street to City Hall. From there I went to the library to return a book of Margaret’s and to pick up a book for myself.

With so much of the day already gone I decided to do some catch-up on my website. Sorry about the number of posts, but in order to get these things onto the website they have to be included in your e-mail subscription.
