It’s getting busy out there

I decided I had time to hit the post office with my packages before I was due at the BOND office. I didn’t think it would be busy so early in the morning but I was wrong. The line-up was almost out the door. Fortunately it moved quickly and I got a clerk that I like – always a good thing.

When I did the shopping for BOND I wasn’t so lucky. The shopping went quickly and I found a cashier that was just finishing up the customer ahead of me. The clerk put me through quite quickly and before I knew it he had finished with my order. I asked him if he had given me the 5% discount (because BOND gets a discount) and he said he forgot. It took about fifteen minutes to get it all sorted out and the discount taken off the charged amount. This discount came to just a little over $2, but it was the principle that mattered to me!

We had a good turnout for lunch today. I didn’t have too much prep to do because I had saved a lot of the fruit and veggies from last week to add to this week’s trays. I made Sloppy Joes and, for just a few minutes, Connie and I had a moment of panic as we thought we might not have made enough. At least three of the women had a good excuse for missing last week – we had three brand new babies in the room today.

I stopped to see Margaret when I was finished. She seemed a little cheerier today. She said she had seen her doctor and gave him an earful! She’s going to go back on a “regular” diet. I’m not sure what diet they had her on but I know she’s not eating much. She also said that she was missing salt and had asked her “granddaughter” to bring her some potato chips.

I needed to get a bit of stitching done this afternoon to be ready for the bee tomorrow. We meet at our alternate location this week and we generally focus on hand work because there isn’t as much room for sewing machines. I put the binding and sleeve on last week’s Snowman project so I’ll have something to do.
