I got mail

I had Guild reports to work on this morning, and in the search for some of the papers I needed I found my measuring tape and my list! Actually I found two measuring tapes – the first one I found was the replacement tape I took from my ironing room because I couldn’t find the one from my studio. Shortly after I had put that back where it belonged I found my studio tape and tucked it away in its proper place. I still need to do a lot of cleaning up though.

I don’t want to say I’ve been stalking the postal worker who delivers the mail, but I do watch for her every day when I’m expecting something. Today I got my first copy of the quilting magazine that Kathryn gave me for my birthday. I tucked it in my bag hoping for a quiet day at the Loan Cupboard. We also received our first Christmas greeting – a lovely handmade card from Diane and Brian. I’m still waiting for some quilting software to be delivered so I’ll still be watching the door!

It was a very busy day at the Red Cross. All the clients were returning items so there was a lot of cleaning involved. I had three wheelchairs returned and they take about 20 minutes each to clean. I only had time to read a few ads in my new magazine before it was time to leave.

I had a short visit with Margaret – I don’t think she feels very well and I think she may be depressed. She was talking again today about going to Edmonton. She has no idea how long her wait will be to get into Olive Devaud and I think that frustrates her. I wonder if the wait would be shorter in Alberta or, as in the case on Saskatchewan, she could end up anywhere in the province.

I had a Quilt Show Meeting tonight, followed by our monthly Guild meeting. The business meeting ran longer than usual and, after coffee, there were a lot of ‘Show and Tell’ items – everyone has been busy with Christmas. I displayed another door hanging for Olive Devaud, as well as the results of the tree skirt class I took last month. I volunteered to help another committee with some computer work for the Quilt Show, and I also signed up for a One Block Wonder class in January.
