The countdown begins

We had a great concert last night and everyone enjoyed themselves. We did a lot of cleaning last night, but there was still another load of dishes to put through the dishwasher this morning. We use “real” plates and cups and they all had to be put away until next time. I’ve been finding things all day that we hid before the concert and that now need to be put back in their proper space. That will continue for a week or two. Our next concert isn’t until February and we are both looking forward to a bit of a break.

Our house guests caught the noon ferry and shortly after I headed out the door to shop. Although it wasn’t as sunny today as it was yesterday, it was warm enough that I decided I’d walk to my destinations. I had two shops I wanted to go to. In one I was hoping for an inspiration, but I was ready to spend money in the second.

I was disappointed because I didn’t find any inspiration at my first stop, even though everything was on for 25% off. I wasn’t ready to give up though and I thought of a second spot that might have something that would fill the last opening in my Christmas/birthday list. Sadly, that store was closed. Next I wandered off to the shop where I knew what I needed to pick up, but was surprised that they were also closed. I don’t shop often and I assumed everything would be open on Sunday. Oh well, I did get in a nice walk!

Pat is planning to rearrange his studio and he offered me one of his fancy computer desks. It was easy to move it up to my studio space and quite easy to get set up. It isn’t much bigger than the one I was using, but it has three shelves and a keyboard tray and I feel like I have more room. It is taller than my former desk so one of my pictures has to be moved. That might be a problem because, with the sloped ceiling, I have very little wall space.

I had enough time yesterday to finish one of my sewing projects but before getting started today I gave Ruby a good cleaning. Christmas is only a month away but my parcels need to be in the mail within the next couple of weeks. There is no time to waste!
