As some of you know, after the last two storms, we have ended up with water in the basement and shed. Almost everything has dried out but we still don’t know where the water is coming from. We have ruled out the dishwasher and laundry so I guess we are a bit further ahead than we were when all this started.
Because we knew the rain was coming tonight we spent most of the morning in the shed making sure we could see all the foundation walls. We got rid of a lot of boxes that we were keeping for who-knows-what, and we made sure that everything left in the shed is either in a dry spot or raised up.
Now all we can do is wait for the downpour!
I spent some time (and money) at the fabric store this afternoon. I was so inspired by all the Christmas ideas at last night’s Guild demo that I picked up some fabric for a few projects. I also saw some fabric on the $3.50/yard sale that I will use for a class I’m taking in January. And I needed fabric for the class I’m taking tomorrow and also for Project Day next week.
I had a short visit with Margaret today. She has some incentive to get herself up and about now because one of the nurses told her that she can’t go directly from the hospital into assisted living. She needs to be living on her own before she can “get the call”. She is also talking seriously about going to Edmonton where she would be closer to her family. She’s always said “No” when the subject came up, but I think with a bit of persuasion she would consent now.
It will be another knitting night for me.
