Giving up or giving in?

I had another good day at the bee, but then every day at the bee is a good day! I am doubling the size of my Disappearing 9-Patch, and I hoped to get the top finished today. I have all the blocks completed, but they still need to be stitched together. I plan this as either a birthday or housewarming gift for Margaret so there is some urgency to get it finished. I figure if I can have the flimsy done before I leave I will have time to quilt it before her 90th birthday. And I have my fingers crossed that she will be in her new home by then.

Of course there is also the four applique blocks that I want to have placed before I go on my trip. I started last night on one of the blocks and notice that I have missed one of the leaves for the piece. When I was making the bias tape I found a piece missing on another block. I traced these applique pieces at a Tuesday bee and, perhaps, I was too busy chatting and not paying enough attention. I will try to get one of the blocks finished but, since they won’t take up much room in my suitcase, I will pack them as an “extra” project for our week of sewing.

I’ve only just now finished posting to the Guild blog. It takes so much time to do that every week, but I get good feedback from the members so I know they are reading it. I have a bit more Guild work to finish up before I leave, but I will be glad to have a break from my duties.

I think the rest of the evening is meant for sock knitting!
