I’m determined

We had our first (of many I assume) winter storm last night. The wind was howling and the rain was pouring down. I got up just past six thinking it would be fun to watch the action – forgetting of course that it is still pitch dark out at that time of the day! I wondered if the Comox ferry would make it across and saw it arriving on time. The next thing I noticed was it pulling back out of the dock. I guess with the wind and wave action he misjudged the landing on his first attempt. He was successful on the second try.

Stuart McLean was to be in town last night for a show. We didn’t have tickets but a lot of the quilters were coming back early from Hands Across the Water to attend. Turns out his plane couldn’t land due to the bad weather – oh the joys of an isolated coastal community!

At some point during the night I decided that the project I picked for my hand quilting lessons just wasn’t the right thing. Fortunately I was able to think of a better project all in the same sub-conscious dream. It took me half the morning to get the prep work done, and I spent the other half packing up my projects to ship on the bus tomorrow.

We had our afternoon all planned out. Pat has a performance on Thursday and was going to do some practicing. I was going to get back to my sock knitting. Instead we spent the entire afternoon looking at our photos – again. We have the ones we want picked out, but Pat needs to work a little magic on them before they can get placed in the book. Since I can’t help him with that I volunteered to cook dinner.

I am determined to sort out the problems with the first few rows of my socks tonight.
