Pyjama day

I was up at my regular time but by the time I had coffee, read my mail and blogs and had breakfast it was already nine o’clock. I wanted to finish up stitching the binding on one of my quilts and I didn’t see any need to be dressed to do that. It took me until lunch to finish the stitching (much longer than I had expected) and by the time lunch was over it seemed silly to bother getting dressed for the afternoon when I was so comfortable.

There was one small problem – Pat was expecting a friend over to play music. I moved myself up to my studio for the afternoon and, unless I get caught in the next few minutes before dinner, Tom will never even know I’m here.

I was unsure of what I wanted to do today in my studio but since I was in a finishing sort of mood I stitched down some binding on another project I’ve been working on. I took a look at my “sandwiches” and I see that I’m going to have to make something larger to practice my hand quilting on. My quilting frame is 17” x 17” – a substantial size.

My Hallowe’en projects were staring at me from my design wall so I got started on them. On the first one I used the zig-zag stitch around the applique and then realized this would be a good time to test out the Blanket Stitch on my machine. I have one of each done now and I’m not sure which I like better. I think the Blanket Stitch takes less thread, and it seems to go faster. It’s time now to decide though as I’m ready to start on number three.

My favorite show, Amazing Race, starts tonight so there will be more knitting done.
