Pat was back teaching today, so we had an early start. I’m down to writing the text for our photo book. I spent the first hour this morning writing, and then I spent the second hour rewriting everything because I changed my mind about what I wanted it to look like. I do enjoy going through the photos again and again. Each time something different catches my eye and takes me back there.
It was out the door before nine headed for the sewing bee. There weren’t as many ladies there today, but we had lots of fun. The topic of the day seemed to be bears. One of the ladies had a very funny bear story. A few years ago a bear was hanging out at the Italian Cultural Center. When the bear was reported to conservation officers the club was advised to pick the apples off their tree. One of their members very diligently got out a ladder and was in the tree picking the apples when he looked down and there, right below him, was a bear climbing up the tree. She says the apple tree was cut down the following year!
I went right from my sewing to my knitting class. My homework was done so I thought I was ready for that “afterthought heel”. As it turns out it really is an afterthought – the very last thing we do. In the meantime I’ve knitted in some fishing line to mark the spot where the heel will eventually go and I’m to continue in rounds until the sock is long enough. I’ll have to work hard to be able to do the crochet cast-off next week.
I’ve spent most of the evening updating the Guild’s blog. Tuesdays are a love/hate day. I love the sewing, but I less-than-love all the updates I need to do when I get home. I get good feedback from the ladies though so at least I know someone is watching!
