I dropped Pat off at the airport this morning for the nine o’clock flight. Except for a trip to the store for navy beans (I’ve got a ham bone I’m making soup with), lunch and coffee this afternoon I’ve been stitching all day.
Today’s task was to sew the appliqué flowers onto the Butterfly Quilt. I haven’t done much machine appliqué before and I had to keep reminding myself to breathe and blink. The lines around those small pieces were hard to see in some places but I think everything is stitched down enough that it will hold.
Each of the twelve flowers has eight petals (except the one that ended up with seven for some reason) and a circle in the center. I knew it would be a lot of work but I finished up just now. It is very bright, but I’m quite happy with the results.
