Reverse stitching with friends

Pat dropped me at the sewing bee this morning just a few minutes before nine. I thought I might have to wait outside the center for someone with the key to arrive, but there were already two eager members inside getting set up.

I took three tasks with me today and actually worked on all three of them. I got the ripping out done on my Christmas project first. That project has been on my design wall for far too long and because I didn’t like the way it looked I wasn’t moving forward. I’m hoping that once I do the restitching I’ll feel more kindly towards it!

Next I hand stitched the binding on my Bargello Table Runner. I’m not sure whether or not it will sit on my table – I may hang it in the porch/laundry room. It is very bright, but I’m happy with it.

I had a few minutes left in my time at the bee to stitch down a few petals on my appliqué project. We had a discussion today about how many projects to work on at one time. I was finding that with too many projects on the go I didn’t feel like I was making progress on any of them. The consensus seemed to be that people have at least two major projects and then throw in something quick if they get bored.

Margaret called last night to see if I could drive her to the doctor today. She knows I sew on Tuesday, but I felt that since she called she must really need me. I left the bee a bit early and was able to get her to the doctor, pick up a prescription, and stop at the bank with her.

The word on the Guild blog (http://tqguild.wordpress.com) seems to be getting around, and I had several compliments on it today. I took photos of what people were working on and before I left the ladies were asking when they would be posted. I was having trouble fitting all the photos onto the blog, so took a few minutes tonight to find out how you create a slideshow. It worked very well and I’m hoping people will be happy with the results.
