I can’t believe I slept in this morning – it was after six when I got up! I’m not sure what that is all about, but I’m thankful I seem to have my energy back.
Even though it was raining this morning we went up to the Open Air Farmer’s Market. We wanted a few vegetables and we usually find any number of other things to bring home. I saw a couple of booths selling salad mixes, but by the time we got to the front of the line they were sold out. Same thing for the beets. I guess this early in the season they don’t have the quantities they will have later on. We did come home with some fresh spinach and carrots. We stopped at the grocery store and stocked up on some staples. Shopping everyday is more difficult than I anticipated.
I had a hair appointment this afternoon. I haven’t had my hair trimmed since I had that disastrous cut 18 months ago, but I had heard good things about this salon so I thought I’d give it a try. It is a one-chair shop and the fellow that runs it is newer to town than we are. When I got settled in the chair he asked me to tell him about my hair – now how do you answer that question?
I told him I had grown it long so I could tie it back while we were on holidays, but I wasn’t sure if long hair suited me. I was honest and told him I don’t like to fuss with my hair – no product, no blow drying! He combed it, took a look at it and said all it needed was a trim and that he liked it long! It doesn’t seem much shorter but it has some shape to it. I think he did a good job. I’ll go back more often now that I trust him.
I finished up the flimsy for my cookie tin exchange project this afternoon. I don’t particularly like the way it came together, so I didn’t want to spend any money for more fabric. I found some backing material that would work, but when it came to finding something for binding I was out of luck. I made a quick trip to the fabric store and got a colour that I hope will help tie it all together.
I’m on my second glass of wine (it’s Saturday might after all) and if I still have my wits about me when it is done I will get my project sandwiched.
