One more thing

Although I had very ambitious plans to finish the Sudoku quilt today, when Pat suggested we check out the 70% off sale at one of the garden centers I agreed to go along with him. He got three lovely big pots. The Garden Club’s plant sale is on Sunday so the timing is perfect.

From there we headed down to Marine to pick up my new shoes. Stacia had a pair and I wanted some like them for our trip. When we checked out the shop they had something I was interested in but not in my size so they ordered a pair from their store in Sechelt. It was quite a problem finding them amid all the boxes in the shop but eventually they were found and I was able to try them on and bring them home. You are probably envisioning some lovely sandals or loafers, but you’d be wrong. I got a loafer-looking pair of Crocs! That’s one more thing crossed off my list.

As we were driving to the shoe store we noticed a 30% off sale at the antique store. We’ve only been in the store a couple of times but thought now was a good time to look. I saw some lovely things (and some things we could have found any day of the week on the farm) but I didn’t see anything I couldn’t live without. From there we crossed the street for coffee and a cinnamon bun, and then home.

I had planned to take Margaret out for coffee this afternoon if she was feeling better. I had two messages from her when we got home. The first was to call her, and the second message was that she was going to Emergency to be checked. I called off and on all day and then called the hospital to see if she had been admitted. Just before six she called to say she was home “after a waste of time that took all day”. She actually sounds better and they checked her out pretty good (heart, breathing, lungs) so we’ll try and go out on Tuesday.

I did get eventually make it to my studio and I got everything except the hand stitching done on my Sudoku quilt. I also made some progress on my Guild Challenge. It is due at the end-of-the-year party but that is only a week after we get home so I’d like to have it finished before we leave.

I’m off to the Guild tomorrow. I’m hostess for the Saturday workshop, which means I have to set up, make coffee and tea and run errands for the teacher. I can’t take the class but I’m allowed to listen in! I could take my machine and work on my own stuff, but I’m going to take the Sudoku quilt and my appliqué.
