I can’t lie. It was such a disappointment to see the Canucks lose their game last night and be out of the playoffs. I tried to think on the positive side but I could only come up with one thing – we won’t need to worry when we are in Italy about how they are doing. In hindsight I had many hours of stitching while we watched their games. With them being out so early there are bound to be some changes in the organization and those will be fun to watch. I guess you see some movies just for the popcorn and you watch some games just for the stitching!
I was in charge of the food for the BOND lunch today; we had Sloppy Joes. I planned to make enough for 24 because we haven’t been getting the high numbers of late, but one of the leaders thought we should plan for 30. Only eleven Mums showed up so there were lots of leftovers. When it came time to wrap things up we didn’t have any small containers so I had to double-bag the mixture – it didn’t look very appealing, but all the bags were taken.
We had one brand new baby (just a week old) and a couple of new expectant mothers. The baby I had a cuddle with was three months old. He started out with one finger in his mouth, and then he managed to get most of his hand in his mouth to the point that he gagged. He soon drifted off to sleep and then I didn’t have to worry about him swallowing his whole arm!
When I got home I was so tired I had a little nap before dinner. I don’t know how I managed to work a seven-hour day before I retired. Five hours at BOND and I’m exhausted. Perhaps I’m working harder at BOND than I did at my “real” job!
Tomorrow is the bee and I’m going to have to clean up the mess in my studio so I can find the things I need to take with me.
