Short day

I really wanted a day at home today but, after a lot of talking myself into it, I headed off to the bee. I had a piece I wanted to sandwich and it is so much easier to do it at the center than it is at home on my smaller surfaces. I didn’t feel like taking my machine out so I took my appliqué blocks to stitch. Once I was there I was quite happy to catch up on all the news and see the new pieces everyone was working on.

I left the bee at lunchtime as I had some errands to run. I needed a birthday present, I wanted a bulletin board, and I wanted to get Pat a birthday cake because we didn’t have one on the weekend. I also wanted to stop at the Economy Shop to look for some men’s shirts. One of my next projects will use the fabric from these shirts to make something – I’m not sure what yet because I love every pattern in the new book I got.

Once I was home I headed upstairs to my studio to start taking out the border quilting on my Mystery Quilt. If I thought it took a long time to put the quilting in, it is taking twice as long to pick it out! Hopefully I will get it finished tonight and I can start the binding tomorrow.

I set up my new bulletin board and that allowed me to take back my original design wall. It now features the start of my Challenge project, the pillow top I made in my free-motion quilting class, and a completed birthday card. I hung a new flannel-backed tablecloth over the door in my studio and that space will serve as another design board. Right now it is holding my Sudoku quilt. The design board over the door in the room across the hall has my Bargello piece on it. Lots of quilting to do and, with my projects front and center, perhaps I won’t start anything new until some of these are finished.
