Comfort crafting

I was in such a hurry to get my Easter parcels wrapped this morning  that I neglected to take any pictures. I’m hoping I’ll get photos sent back to me once the parcels have been delivered and opened. The three packages were on their way before I picked Margaret up for our shift at the Red Cross.

The Loan Cupboard is bursting at the seams. We’ve either got new equipment in, or everything that was on loan has been returned. The wheelchairs are lined up in double rows and we still have some in the small aisle that we try to leave clear. The repair spot at the back is so full that you can hardly get through it to pick out walkers and bed handles. One of the physiotherapists had set aside quite a bit of equipment for a patient but because the patient’s discharge from hospital was delayed it was taking up quite a bit of the cleaning area. I filled an order for six items and the woman picked up the walker and then didn’t come back for over an hour to pick up the rest. It seemed no matter where I went in the room I was tripping over that pile. And then we received a large equipment donation that I had to pile up as best I could in the back of the room while it waits to be inventoried.

Since I spent all morning wrapping parcels I didn’t get at the office work until this afternoon. I managed to clear up my pile, but Pat has some accounting work that needs to be done by the end of the month. I also need to get our income tax receipts and slips gathered up and sent to the accountant. I guess I know what I’ll be doing tomorrow.

I’m back to my crocheting project tonight while I watch the hockey game. After almost two weeks of not doing a stitch on it, I was able to pick it up and start crocheting without even looking at the pattern. I have a bit of a cold this week and since I’m not eating comfort foods I think a little comfort crafting will do me good.
