I worked on my quilted jacket at the bee today. There was a lot of joking going on about this being a two-day course. And yes, this was day three. One of the ladies finished her jacket and it is lovely. Two of us are still working on ours. The teacher said next week is the last week for the class. I think I can finish mine up in time, but I think she was kidding about not helping us any longer!
I took five jacket pieces to work on today and I came home with only one piece so that is progress. My homework is to finish the side seams, make the pockets and cut the binding. If I was a better sewist (there is a lot of comment on one of my blogs about calling us sewers) I would probably know enough to get a head start on the binding. Whenever I’m not sure of something (and when I remember my previous sewing adventures) I know I’m better off waiting for more instruction.
Now about the jacket – I’m still not very happy with it. Pat agrees that it looks a bit like wearing curtains (or a quilt). However, because I am finishing off the seams with a binding, the jacket is reversible. Pat likes the reverse side, and I think it is something I would wear. I have it hanging in my studio so I’ll keep switching it back and forth and decide which side I like better.
Hockey tonight so I’ll be switching to my Easter craft.
