It was nice not to have anything urgent that needed to get done in the studio today. I was able to get back to my regular schedule. What is my regular schedule? In a good week, this is what I hope to accomplish.
Monday – Seasonal Projects
This was originally listed as Christmas, because I wanted to continue with the projects I didn’t finish in time for Christmas last year. As Easter approaches I realized that in order to get my Easter projects finished I’d have to add them into my schedule. And the same will be true of all the other holidays and birthdays that come along during the year. When Monday is a BOND day I don’t get much time in my studio.
Tuesday – Guild Bee
Although I’m working on my jacket at the Tuesday bees I will eventually finish it and move on. I’ll use this time to work on my next “want to get it done” project. The current piece in this category is the Butterfly quilt for Emma.
Wednesday – Appliqué
If this project has any hope of being finished for the next quilt show I need to step up the pace. I had been working on finishing a block a month but since Christmas I have devoted one day a week to appliqué. The blocks are half finished (I’m a glass half full kind of person). I have another one ready to stitch (January’s block), and I have two more that are cut and ready to be placed on the backing (February and March).
Thursday – Office
Thursday is one of my busiest days with yoga, my Red Cross shift and sometimes a Guild meeting in the evening. Since my paperwork often takes over my workspace I thought one day a week might keep me caught up. I also like to think I’ll make some progress on my photo project and the stories for my website.
Friday – Pay It Forward
I have two of my gifts started and three more to go. Not all of them are quilts so this will give some variety to my crafts. The projects need to be completed this year – that is the challenge!
Saturday – Blocks
I joined an online Block of the Month group (I’m already behind one month) and I’m anxious to get started on my Farmer’s Wife Quilt Sampler. The only way to keep on top of these projects was to give them their own day. It will also be a good day to do less urgent projects – like my cards and Guild challenge.
Sunday – Quilting and Finishing
I don’t enjoy the quilting much but I have found that if I don’t rush it I have better luck. I have three things in my stack that need to be quilted – the Mystery Quilt, my Bargello and my jacket. I’ll also use this time to finish projects (adding bindings and labels).
