Two new projects

I was cutting at the bee today and my bag was stuffed to the brim with fabric and rulers. I was very productive – I have the cutting done for the blocks for two new projects. There will be borders and bindings to cut later, but when these particular projects reach the top of my pile I can get right at the stitching. I used to cut and piece at the same time but after cutting out all the pieces for my Mystery Quilt before we started sewing I find I like that method.

I’ve had a Sudoku quilt on my want-to-do list since we talked about it an earlier bee. I picked up a puzzle book on the weekend and got all the pieces cut out today. This lap quilt will be part of my Pay It Forward challenge.

I also got the pieces cut for the blocks for a new quilt for Emma. I’d like to get it done for her birthday, but that is coming up pretty fast – January is already over. I think the piecing will go fairly quickly but it’s the quilting that slows me down.

I have the stencils done for quilting my Mystery Quilt. I’m really not putting it off, but tomorrow is appliqué day and on Thursday I only expect to be home for a couple of hours between the three things I have on my schedule. Maybe Friday?
