I was making coffee this morning when there was an enormous light in the house – just like the flash of a camera going off. Immediately following (and I mean not even getting to Mississippi in the one-Mississippi, two Mississippi count) there was a huge crack of thunder. This was repeated about three times before the storm moved off. Then the hail started, followed by snow. The sun was shining an hour later though and there were sailboats on the water by afternoon.
I am very excited to have picked out a new quilting project. This isn’t one that will happen overnight, but I will get to it eventually. I’ve been reading about the quilt on one of the blogs I follow and was ready to order the pattern. Then I did a bit more reading and some of the reviews of the pattern didn’t look very good. I did more research today, joined a Yahoo and a Flickr group and the project is back on track and I’ve ordered the pattern. I love a challenge, and I think this will be a good one. Can’t tell you any more about it though as the blocks may be part of my Pay It Forward gifts.
I fully intended to get at the quilting on my bench cover today but when I came up to my studio I decided I wanted to finish the cookie tin block. I thought it would be a quick job, but it took longer than I anticipated. When it was all done I took a couple of photos. It wasn’t until I posted a photo that I realized it didn’t look as good as I wanted it to. So, I’ll be ripping out just a few pieces and fixing it. But not tomorrow – I have to get at that quilting!
Pat had to take one of his guitars to a fellow who is going to do some repairs on it. Dan lives south of town on the way to the Saltery Bay ferry terminal. It was a lovely day so I went along for the ride. After Pat took care of his business we stopped at Skeeter Jack’s for lunch.
When I was running out of afternoon I put away my cookie tin block and cut out the backing for my Bargello project. I hope to get that sandwiched on Tuesday. I also got out the supplies I need to do the cutting for the zinger and border on my Mystery Quilt. That is also part of my Tuesday plan.
I picked up my knitting after supper and I’ve made quite a bit of progress on Will’s afghan.
